Children's music school at the Chitalishte /House of Culture/ "N.Vaptsarov" Blagoevgrad was founded in 1953 and today implements successfully its mission to introduce wonderful world of music to children and students. Some of the students of the School continue their musical education in professional music schools and universities.
Classes
The Children's Musical School offers piano, violin, accordion, mandolin, organ, folk and choral singing classes.
Lecturers
Lecturers at the School completed their education at the National Music Academy "Pancho Vladiguerov", Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts - Plovdiv and Southwestern University "N. Rilski" in Blagoevgrad.
The team aims to enhance the musical culture of the younger generation through the various forms of teaching.
Concerts
Students of the School have the opportunity to show what they have learned and receive a certificate for successfully completion of the academic year at concerts, which are held annualy.
Competitions
In 1992 piano instructors Pavlina Chochova, Simona Genkova and Nikolina Kroteva organized the first edition of the competition for young pianists "Our children play Bach." It is unique for both Bulgaria and Europe as participants are main participants are children aged from 6 to 18 years, who are not students at secondary or higher specialized musical schools.
The level of competition is very high and there are several pieces of evidence for this. One of the most important is the high level of difficulty of the works of the regulation and the degree of virtuosity required for the works to be carried out. Jury in each edition is made up of world-renowned names in the field of music.
During its seven editions members of the jury include: Maestro Jacques Lucien - France, Prof. Vassil Kazandjiev, Prof. Victor Chuchkov Professor Lily Atanasova, Prof. Jordan Goshev, Prof. Ivan Drenikov, Milcho Leviev and others.
The forthcoming eighth edition of "Our children play Bach" is being currently organized.
